NE-4 is India's longest expressway at 1,386 km and the first 8-lane access-controlled greenfield highway connecting the national capital to Mumbai. It reduces the travel distance by approximately 180 km compared to existing NH routes and cuts travel time from ~24 hours to ~12 hours. The expressway begins at the junction of DND Flyway and Ring Road at Maharani Bagh. It passes through Khizrabad, Batla House, and Shaheen Bagh along the Yamuna river's west bank, then follows the Agra Canal from Okhla Vihar metro station to Mithapur. A second entry ramp is planned near Kalindi Kunj metro station. The section exits Delhi near MCD Toll, Mithapur Chowk.
